Forcett Parish

The parish of Forcett extends from the River Tees in the north to the A66 in the south and contains the parish church of St Cuthbert, in the hamlet of Forcett plus two other places of worship, Christ Church, East Layton and St Hilda's Chapel at Caldwell which finally closed at the end of July 2016. Both of these were originally part of the parish of Stanwick St John.

We have given each of the three church buildings a page of its own as they all have interesting features and histories.

Forcett itself is a tiny hamlet and the principal village in the parish is Eppleby, about ¾ mile north, where the Eppleby/Forcett Church of England Primary School is located.
