Stanwick St John Parish Registers

Church Records

If you are researching your family history and wish to consult the actual old parish registers, you should find them lodged with the North Yorkshire County Archive Service at Northallerton.

We have copies of the entries from the registers of baptisms, marriages and burials at Stanwick St John along with a record of baptisms in Aldbrough Methodist Chapel.

They are recorded alphabetically by surname to make it easier to find names you are looking for.
They are available to look at in the church at Stanwick along with a large churchyard plan to assist identification of graves.

If you are unable to get to Stanwick and would like us to send the appropriate Excel spreadsheet, please contact janet.hall@finklecroft.me.uk. Recent baptisms, weddings and burials are not recorded as most families will have that information for themselves. We make no charge for this but if you would like to make a donation towards the upkeep of the churchyard at Stanwick, which is a major expense for the parish, we would be very grateful.

To do so payment can be made online here or via internet banking to our account Sort Code 40-19-03, account no. 30784621, reference '(your surname) + SSJ chyd'.  Please make cheques payable to 'Aldbrough St John Church Committee' and send them to PCC Treasurer, Finkle Croft, Aldbrough St John, Richmond, DL11 7TD.  Thank you.
